ABOUT MATT BATTIATAGAA FOUNDER
Matt Battiata is the lead agent & Assoc Broker for Battiata Real Estate Group powered by eXp Realty of California, Inc. Matt & his team moved to eXp Realty in 2019. He was named the #1 agent in California & #5 worldwide in 2001 (RE Int.), was featured in the book “Billion Dollar Agent” by Steve Kantor and has been the among the top selling agents in North America since 2001, selling 100’s of homes per year. Matt trains real estate agents across the country and regularly appears on local network TV news and radio broadcasts as a real estate expert. He has been featured in The San Diego Union Tribune, The Wall Street Journal, The San Diego Daily Transcript, The San Diego Business Journal and Top Agent Magazine.
Matt is married to his wife Amy of 24 years. They have 5 children and reside in Encinitas. Matt is an avid swimmer, surfer, stand up paddle surfer and sailor.
Matt is a former tall ship captain, licensed by the United States Coast Guard, and has sailed schooners and tall ships everywhere from Maine and New England to the Florida Keys, the Caribbean, Hawaii & California. Matt last served aboard the Tall Ship Californian, a 145 ft. Square Topsail Schooner, which has been designated the Official Tall Ship of the State of California.
Matt and Amy took their 5 children on an extended trip around the world in 2018 in order to educate them and expose them to the world outside of the United States. "We felt that, if our highest calling is to educate our children and prepare them for their adult lives, what better gift could we give them than exposing them to the world." The Battiata family visited 22 countries throughout Europe, Africa, Asia, & Australia.
Matt and Amy took their 5 children on an extended trip around the world in 2018 in order to educate them and expose them to the world outside of the United States. Diane Mills brings 25 years of sales & marketing experience to The Global Agent Academy.
She has worked closely with fellow Global Agent Academy partner Matt Battiata, as he has grown his business and was named the #1 eXp individual agent WORLDWIDE in 2020 and 2021. Working closely with Matt on a larger scale over the last two years opened Diane's eyes to the tremendous opportunity eXp brings to the Real Estate category. Having worked in numerous sectors, with regional and national brands from Mercedes Benz and Papa John's Pizza to Jerome's Furniture and The Mossy Automotive Group, Diane was energized by eXp's disruption of the traditional Real Estate franchise brick and mortar model. Diane recognized eXp as a disruptor in the Real Estate category, offering a cloud-based, agent-owned model, with multi-tiered revenue opportunities for agents and broker/owners alike. eXp is to Real Estate what Amazon was to brick and mortar retail.
